Image ALT & Media SEO

AURA scans every product, collection and blog image, then generates clean, descriptive alt text, filenames and captions so your media actually works for SEO, accessibility and performance.

Replaces manual alt-tagging & image renaming Alt text • filenames • compression • basic media QA Best for stores with 1k+ images or frequent drops

Instead of “we’ll get to alt tags later”, AURA turns media into an always-on asset: every new image gets optimised, named and tracked without you touching a spreadsheet.

What this system does

From random filenames to a structured media layer

Most stores are full of IMG_1234.jpg and “Screenshot-final-v3.png”. AURA turns that mess into a searchable, SEO-ready media layer that supports rankings, accessibility and UX.

  • Scans all media in your product, collection, page and blog templates.
  • Generates descriptive, keyword-aware alt text based on context and vision analysis.
  • Normalises filenames to your brand-safe naming convention.
  • Flags oversized or low-quality assets before they tank performance.
No more “we’ll fix the images later” tickets Alt tags, names and flags all live in one system

Where it sits in your stack

Image ALT & Media SEO snaps into whatever you already use. It’s not another DAM or CDN — it’s the automation layer that keeps them clean.

  • Inputs: Shopify files, CDN URLs (Cloudflare/Cloudinary), CMS media, product data.
  • Connects to: Shopify, Webflow, headless CMS, DAM / CDN, Google Drive exports.
  • Outputs to: Direct media updates, CSV/Sheets, dev tickets or API hooks.
  • Pairs perfectly with the AI Product SEO Engine and Schema & Rich Results Builder.
Shopify • Woo • Headless • Any CDN
Who it’s for & what we build

Ideal for brands that…

  • Have grown to thousands of SKUs and can’t keep image hygiene under control.
  • Ship new creative weekly (drops, campaigns, landers) and never quite finish the SEO bits.
  • Care about accessibility and brand quality, but don’t want writers tagging every file by hand.
  • See “image optimisation” mentioned in audits but never get a clear implementation plan.

If you’re smaller, we can still scope it — starting with high-value templates like PDPs, collections and key landers.

What we set up for you

  • Media discovery job that maps all images by template and URL pattern.
  • AI layer that writes alt text, proposes filenames and flags problem assets.
  • Rules engine for brand, legal and compliance phrases (what to say / avoid).
  • Delivery flows into Shopify, your CMS, Sheets/Notion or ticketing tools.
  • Simple “before vs after” view so you can see the clean-up in action.
Inputs & outputs

Inputs we need from you

  • Access to your storefront media: Shopify files, CDN, CMS library or exports.
  • Product/category context so we know what each image is actually showing.
  • Any existing naming/alt-tag guidelines, brand phrases or compliance notes.
  • Preference on how changes should be applied (direct, via dev, or via export).

Outputs you get every cycle

  • Alt tag coverage reports with before/after stats by template and image type.
  • Updated or recommended filenames following a consistent naming convention.
  • Lists of “priority fixes” for heavy templates that hurt CWV and UX.
  • Optional summary for leadership: “Here’s how media clean-up is affecting speed and SEO.”
Example workflow

How a typical Image ALT & Media SEO cycle runs

  1. You connect your store, CMS or media exports so AURA can inventory every image in scope.
  2. AURA groups assets by template, type and traffic so we focus on the highest-value areas first.
  3. The system generates alt text, filename suggestions and flags for oversized or low-quality images.
  4. We push updates directly, export them to Sheets/Notion, or turn them into dev/content tickets.
  5. Your team (or ours) applies the fixes; AURA re-crawls and updates coverage and performance stats.
  6. On the next cycle, we add new media, clean up any regressions and keep the library healthy.

Over time this becomes your always-on media hygiene layer — every new image that hits your stack is checked, tagged and optimised automatically.

FAQ
Will this overwrite my existing manual alt tags?
Only if you want it to. By default we protect good existing work and focus on blanks, weak tags and legacy uploads. If you’d like, we can also “upgrade” older alt text in controlled batches.
Does this help with Core Web Vitals and page speed?
Yes. While alt text itself is about SEO and accessibility, the system also flags oversized or poorly formatted images so you can fix the heavy hitters that slow down PDPs, collections and landers.
What platforms does this work with?
Anything with image URLs: Shopify, WooCommerce, Webflow, headless builds and sites using Cloudinary/S3/CDN. If we can see the media and context, we can usually optimise it.
How does this plug into your other systems?
Image ALT & Media SEO feeds clean media into the AI Product SEO Engine, Schema & Rich Results Builder and Analytics & Reporting War Room. You get one view of how media quality affects rankings, clicks and revenue.
Ready to stop ignoring the “image optimisation” part of every audit?
We’ll wire Image ALT & Media SEO into your stack, run the first clean-up cycle, and turn your media library into a permanent asset — not technical debt.
